The United States is Amazon's largest FBA market with 240 fulfillment centers accepting inbound shipments. The network clusters around five freight gateways: Southern California (the ONT/LAX codes around Los Angeles–Long Beach, 60+ FCs), New Jersey & Pennsylvania (EWR/ABE/PHL codes serving the New York metro), Texas (DFW, HOU, and the LFT corridor), the Chicago/Midwest belt (MDW, ORD, IND codes), and the Southeast around Atlanta and Savannah.

For sellers shipping from China, the critical rule is that you don't choose the FC — Amazon does. Your destination codes appear in Send to Amazon once the shipping plan is created, and one shipment often splits into 2-4 different FCs. That's why most China-based sellers use a forwarder who can truck or rail split deliveries from a single port of arrival, and why ocean cargo to the East Coast FCs is often transloaded in Los Angeles onto rail or truck instead of sailing through the Panama Canal.
