⚠ Critical for Air Freight: Lithium ion batteries (UN3480) are RESTRICTED on passenger aircraft. They must ship as Cargo Aircraft Only (CAO). Section I and Section IB require a DGD; Section II does not require a DGD but has strict packaging and marking requirements. Always confirm with your forwarder before booking.
⚠ Documentation Requirements:
- DGD must be completed by a DG-certified person (IATA / IMDG training required)
- Each DG item requires a transport document entry
- Packaging must meet UN specification (UN marking on packages)
- Hazmat labels and markings must be affixed to each package
- For sea freight: Container/vehicle packing certificate required
